Cibilo Nature Center: Rainwater catchment Workshop with John Kight, July 11, 2009

John Kight, engineer and rainwater catchment owner, gives the latest technological information and the most practical advice. Learn about design and materials from someone who has done it himself! The Kight home with no well or outside water source is in a traditional development. Their system comfortably supplies delicious water for all household and landscape needs.

CNC Workshop: Sustainable Concept House Visit, Saturday May 23, 2009

The Cibolo Nature Center is hosting a visit to the Sustainable Concept House on Saturday May 23, 2009 from 9 am to 12 pm.

An onsite visit to the new green home being built by the Adams family in Tapatio Springs is a highlight of this workshop. Come see the work in progress! There will be plenty of time for questions and answers from experts involved in this project.

CNC Bird Habitat Workshop: Managing for Game Birds and Song Birds. March 28, 2009

The Cibolo Nature Center is hosting a workshop Saturday March 28, 2009 from 9 to 12 pm on managing land so that it attracts and fosters game and song birds.

From the CNC website:

Mar 28, 2009

Rufus Stephens, Texas Parks and Wildlife biologist, will begin with a talk on how different habitat types provide food, cover and space for specific birds. Program also will include presentation and use of new Kendall County Bird Checklist for easy record keeping. We will also spend time outside examining native plants important to wildlife.

Cost: Members $15 per person; non-members $20 per person.
